Christina Hendricks Covers Harper's Bazaar

It took an $800 iPad to get me hooked on Mad Men, but after breezing through three+ seasons in under a month, I'm officially an ADDICT and actress Christina Hendricks as Joan is no small part of the reason. Every time she sashays her way into Roger Sterling's office, I wish for red hair and DDD breasts. And Roger Sterling.

My first two wishes are reignited with a glimpse of the November cover of Harper's Bazaar, graced by Hendricks, captured by the lens of controversial photographer Terry Richardson.

In the accompanying feature, Hendricks discusses her famed figure, which brings sexy BACK to Sunday nights, "When the attention started to become about my figure, I was surprised, because it wasn’t something I was focused on. And then it became very positive, and people were saying very nice things.” A fan approached her and said, "Excuse me, I just want to tell you that I watch your show, and you make me feel better about myself. I am a curvy woman and you’ve made me feel sexy and beautiful.’ I got teary eyed.”

For more Christina Hendricks, pick up the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, on newsstands October 26.

Katy Perry Gets Lucky

M

My girl crush Katy Perry graces her first Lucky cover this month and shares a few style nuggets inside:

On her evolved pinup look: “I’ve gone from Betty Boop to more Bettie Page,” she explained.  “It’s less cute and more meow.”

On her first fashion moments: “I was completely broke.  I used to borrow outfits, get my makeup done at makeup counters, and then sneak into events.  It was cool! I seemed to be wearing things right.”

The June issue of Lucky is on newsstands this week. For a giveaway of Katy's cover look, worth nearly $2,000, click here!

Lady Gaga in V Magazine

The camera loves Lady Gaga, and Lady Gaga has brilliantly turned its invasive lens into yet another pop platform. Now, as the Creative Director of Polaroid, she has found a way to capture all her uncensored, over-the-top, explosive couture moments in a click and snap.

A Gaga Journal by Matthew Williams appears in V MAGAZINE (issue #65), which hits newsstands on May 11th.

VILF: Alexander Skarsgard Covers VMAN

True Blood star and official VILF Alexander Skarsgard covers the new issue of VMAN (issue #18), “The Scandinavian Issue.”

Shot by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Alex discusses his transitions from being a child actor to Hollywood's leading man in the feature.

If you're a True Blood addict as I am, this issue is a must.  Pick it up on fine newsstands now.

Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston Heat Things Up for W

I'm rarely keen on celebrity covers of high fashion magazines, but I must admit that I'm digging W's April cover.

Not only is it super sexy, but it's also ironic to see actress Jennifer Aniston in the arms of her apparent fling (and upcoming costar) Gerard Butler as rumors of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's imminent demise continue to swirl.

Pick up the April issue of W on newsstands as early as March 17 - and for more Aniston and Butler, visit this link.

Kirsten Dunst Covers V

One of my longtime style muses, actress Kirsten Dunst, shot by Mario Testino, covers the next issue of V MAGAZINE (issue #64). In the accompanying feature, Dunst (looking INSANELY GLAMOROUS) discusses her unique friendships with both the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte and Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami as well as her upcoming long-awaited film All Good Things.

V #64 hits newsstands today.

Lady Gaga Covers 944 Magazine

"Lady Gaga has liberated music and fashion the way David Bowie and other Brit Glam rockers did in the seventies--using costume, artifice and drama while bending gender norms and conventions. But she also one ups everyone with her phenomenal vocal talent and truly unique aesthetic. Her music choices are far from predictable-- they're a mash up of futuristic pop styles. What a breath of fresh air!

"For our Vanguard issue she was the only choice for the cover--the most fitting artist of our time. She's way ahead of her time and the only universal artist to truly break ground and provoke thought since Madonna."

--Martine Bury, Editor in Chief, 944 Magazine

Curves Ahead: More from V Magazine's Size Issue

Warning, Curves Ahead.

Shot by noted Norwegian contemporary fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo, five plus-size models go nearly naked for a shoot featured in the upcoming V MAGAZINE (issue #63): “The Size Issue."

Styled by Nicola Formichetti, the models showcase everything from bustiers and bodysuits to nothing but their own skin. After shooting for V, Sundsbo later said: “I loved the opportunity to show that you can be beautiful and sexy outside the narrow interpretations that normally define us.”

V63 hits newsstands on January 14, 2010.

V Magazine plans to make a splash with Issue #63,The Size Issue, which features top plus-size model Crystal Renn alongside newcomer—and more traditional model body-type—Jacquelyn Jablonski.

Appropriately titled “One Size Fits All,” Terry Richardson’s photo spread showcases Renn and Jablonski side-by-side in identical looks, matching sample size outfits and similar poses. The effect is a powerful one that proves fashion can flatter any figure - in fact, I'd argue that Renn looks even better.

Most recently, Renn—who has walked the runway for Jean-Paul Gaultier and graced the cover of Vogue—famously penned her own weight and body image struggles within the model industry in a memoir entitled “Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves,” which was released this fall.

V63 hits newsstands January 14, 2010. Will you be picking up a copy?

Karl Lagerfeld for V: Gentlemen of Leisure

Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld may be among the hardest working men in fashion but that doesn't stop me from getting the distinct feeling that he understands "leisure" more than most.

The new issue of VMAN Magazine (#16) hits newsstands Tuesday, November 17th and features a new editorial shot by The Karl himself, “Gentlemen of Leisure.”

Featuring Spring’s finest-cut suits, "Gentlemen of Leisure" takes its inspiration from old-world elegance and tailoring as well as icons like the Duke of Windsor, Rudolph Valentino and Gary Cooper.

These photographs beg the question, how well kept are you?
