For obvious reasons, I often feel like I should keep some fashion and beauty secrets to myself. After all, I don't want friends and strangers alike biting my style. That said, I was a word-of-mouth marketer before word-of-mouth marketing EXISTED, so it's hard for me to keep my trap shut about things I love, consequences be damned.

One of These Things Is Not Like the Other; One of These Things Does Not Belong

In case it weren't clear from the rampant appearance of bold, bright lippies in my OOTD posts, I consider my lips and nails to be accessories. I love nothing more than adding an insanely bright (say pink) lippie or neon (perhaps purple?) manicure to an otherwise neutral look for a little pop and a little shock.

A great example? Today's manicure...which includes a single accent nail in a bold, bright neon blue. Ridiculous? Mayhaps. (I did have to answer more than one "Are you sure?" question at the salon!) But this little splash of color brings a smile to my face whenever I look down - and you really can't ask for more than that from a mani, can you?

Base Color: M·A·C Cosmetics Wham, Glam, Bam (from Riveting, no longer available - note that this is actually a matte polish, however I had a normal glossy topcoat applied over it.)

Accent Color: Milani Dude Blue

Of all the things that I might like to enhance or enlarge on my individual PERSON, my tush is likely at the very bottom of the list.

So, it's surprising, perhaps that this Bird by Juicy Couture blazer caught my eye at a recent shopping event in store. I love that at first glance, it's conservative but when you turn around, it's a SURPRISE, thanks to the wild built in bustle.

With a hint of autumn in the air this week, I felt compelled to break it out and let it make its mark on a day full of conference calls and meetings.

As a new convert to Mad Men, actress Christina Hendricks (Joan) is a major girl crush of mine. To be honest, her gorgeous red hair, creamy skin and divine curves are a welcome distraction from the standard Hollywood beauty.

London Fog clearly agrees and has cast Hendricks as the face of their new Fall 2010 campaign. While I'm not sure that the final black & white images do her full justice, take a gander through the gallery for behind-the-scenes images from the shoot.

Behind-the-Scenes: The Making of Bleu de Chanel

CHANEL celebrates the launch of their latest men's fragrance, Bleu de Chanel, with the debut of a short film directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

The film features the delicious French actor Gaspard Ulliel as a young actor (not much of a stretch?) whose artistic talent, rebelliousness and luck have catapulted him into the public eye, but who refuses to conform to the lifestyle and expectations his newly found fame has forced upon him. Such a rebel, you know?

As he struggles with the pressures and demands of celebrity, he encounters his first love, who for years supplied him with the passion and turmoil that fueled his work. Faced with a choice, he pushes aside convention and dares to be unexpected.

A reflection of his deep history with the Rolling Stones, Scorsese chose the song She Said Yeah, a 1965 release from their album December’s Children (And Everybody’s), as the soundtrack for the film.

Since I'm a pretty self-aware person, I'm cognisant of the fact that I often like expensive things just because they're...expensive. It's my blessing and also my curse, what can I say?

That is not the case, however, with the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Full Shimmer Collection. This DELICIOUS line of haircare is a sensorial pleasure, of the highest order (seriously, it ranks up there with cake.)

Fragranced with rose absolute and a hint of musk, Full Shimmer smells chic and sexy. Best of all, the line leaves my fine, color-treated hair silky smooth, shiny and radiant - just beyond.

Not to overstate my case here, but I would roll around naked in this stuff (if that seemed like a remotely acceptable course of action.)
