It's difficult, sometimes, when shopping to buy realistically as opposed to aspirationally. I mean, a quick glimpse into my shoe closet and you might assume that I have, say, a car and driver. And upon seeing my most recent purchase, the Ell & Cee Sorbet Pom Pom Robe, you might assume that I
a) am actually Blanche Devereaux.
b) live a life of leisure.
Neither of these things are true of course, but please expect to find me, fully deluded to the realities of my life, lounging in bed and perhaps poolside in this light and airy silk chiffon wonder.
Ell and Cee Sorbet Pom Pom Robe, £95.00
When it comes to my swim style, the mantra has long been GO RETRO or GO HOME. Regardless of my size (and I've wavered between a size 0 and a size 10 - a big diff on a 5'2 frame!), I simply feel the most comfortable and more importantly, the most myself in a glamorous one piece that leaves at least a little to the imagination, a la the Norma Kamali Ruched Swimdress ($350) seen above. Its retro-glam style is ruched for optimum figure flattery and let's not even discuss the impeccable construction - Norma is an utter master when it comes to swim.
I'll pair with cat-eye shades and a fruity cocktail for full effect poolside, but enough about me - tell, what's your swim style?
Vitamin A’s patented mixture of jet-set glamour and California culture have made them a swim favorite for fashionistas.
The Spring '09 Signature Collection ups the ante through its rich textures, incredible hardware, modern cuts, and sophisticated construction and embraces body-conscious lingerie straps and detailing.
