Hot Fun in the Summertime

Seriously, gals - as things heat up this summer, don't forget the sunblock. From the part in your hair to the tops of your feet, Sephora makes it easy with their Sun Safety Kit. This exclusive, limited edition set features deluxe sample sizes from some of my favorite skincare lines and best of all, 100% of the proceeds (that's $18.23 of the $22.00 purchase price) are donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Konichiwa!

I'm still madly in love with Etsy, the ultimate online indie designer marketplace. My most recent find? The fabulous Bento Box Sushi Soap from Canada's own kisukisu.

Each individual piece is fragranced; scents include Italian Neroli, the traditional orange blossom with cinnamon, dillweed and euculyptus, Pink Grapefruit, a tangy and fresh citrus, Ginger Lime, a refreshing blend of ginger, lime, lemon grapefruit and lily, Energy, a unisex blend of citrus with notes of jasmine, blackberry, and champagne and Apricot Ginger Chutney, juicy and spicy!

The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has consistently fabulous exhibits and the newest, Poiret: King of Fashion, is no exception.
Poiret was an influential French designer during the early twentieth century, known best for luxurious oriental and Art Deco gowns though he also created a number of fashion firsts, including the brassiere (thanks, Paul!), culottes (damn you, Paul!) and sheath dresses.
Exhibition dates: May 9 – August 5, 2007

Location: Special exhibition galleries, first floor
Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 5th Ave at 82nd St.
