9 different shoes that every woman should have

We all love shoes, and though we might have more than we need, there is a basic set that you have to start with no matter what.  These are the core of your shoe closet and will get you covered for any occasion.

Basic black pump

This is like the little black dress of shoes. You have to have a pair. They can come in different shapes and looks, but they all have the same thing in common, they can be used for almost anything. You can wear them for the office or a night on the town, anything goes.

Ankle-Strap Sandals

These sandals look sexy and feel sexy. You can rock them with a huge variety of looks, from playful to fashion model. If your legs are on the shorter side you might want to keep them in the nude colors to elongate your legs, but it’s not a rule, so have fun with them.

Ballet flats

Right next to the black pumps are the ballet flats, they are probably one of the most versatile shoes you can have. They are a lot more comfortable than high heels and can look almost as classy. You can wear them in bright colors to spark up an outfit as well.

Sneakers

A good match for the comfort of the ballet flats are a nice pair of sneakers. You can wear a retro pair of canvas sneakers, or a pair of white running shoes, and have that more casual look all summer. We tend to lean towards fully white shoes or white and black shoes for this. Although there are some amazingly colorful running shoes out there, we find that you won’t get anywhere near the usage and flexibility out of them as you would with the white ones.

Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are in fashion all year long and can be worn with most things. They can make you look a little edgier than the sneakers when you need. You can pair them with some well-fitting jeans, or try for that fun look and wear them with a summer dress.

Nude pumps

You have to have a pair of these, as they go with everything. When you don’t know what to wear, nude pumps are a classic that you can’t go wrong with. They go with any color outfit, and have the advantage of making your legs look longer.  A serious must have.

Flat sandals

Your basic sandal is about as casual as you can get. This is one step up from flip-flops, and please do not wear flip-flops unless you are near some water. Sandals are the lazy shoe, and they can make you feel free and easy. Pick a pair that are comfortable and that you can wear every day, and they will become your default shoe for whatever you need to do, whether it is sitting in the garden with some tea or getting lunch in town.

Full boots

Full boots are just fun, and can make an amazing look. While nude pumps are subdued and made not to be seen, boots are the opposite. Boots are made to be seen and to make a statement. Whether they are calf length or up over the knee, they are there to be noticed.

Happy shoes

Happy shoes can be any shoes, they are not a requirement per se in your basic shoe rack, but they are an emotional requirement. You might not wear them much, but they are the shoes that you just love. You bought them because they are works of art. You might wear them out on a special occasion, or they might just sit in your closet and remind you how cool they are. Happy shoes are whatever you want; they are there to make you happy.

Unlike a man’s shoe closet where he can get away with only a few pairs of shoes, a woman’s shoe closet is much more complex. To really fill out your needs, you are basically at a dozen pairs without even trying hard. The ones we have listed here should be considered the starter kit that is required for all women. So look at the shoes you have, and if any of the above are missing? Get shopping. This article is as good as an excuse as any to buy new shoes. Happy shopping.
